How AI is used on the Heritage Pro Se platform and its limitations.
Heritage Pro Se uses AI to assist with legal research, document summarization, case analysis, document drafting, and deadline calculation. These tools are designed to support self-represented litigants, not replace legal counsel.
Our AI is designed to ground legal propositions in retrieved authority. When a legal claim is made, the AI attempts to identify jurisdiction, date, legal issue, retrieve primary authority, retrieve controlling cases, retrieve limiting authority, retrieve procedural rules, and cite sources.
Our AI is instructed never to fabricate cases, citations, statutes, rules, deadlines, judges, or orders. When authoritative data is unavailable, the AI surfaces a coverage gap rather than guessing.
AI can produce incorrect or outdated information. AI-generated research, drafts, and calculations must be independently verified. AI does not constitute legal advice. You are responsible for all filings and legal decisions.
Where possible, AI outputs include confidence indicators and source links. If the AI cannot find supporting authority, it will say so explicitly.
AI-generated documents should be reviewed by you before filing. Where professional review is recommended, the platform will display that recommendation.
